2018 Ski For The Pass saw 60 participants this year on a beautiful winter day! The conditions were perfect. A tremendous thanks goes out to the City of Aspen for the grooming work they did this past week to prepare the course – with special thanks to Matt Kuhn, Jake and the rest of the trails crew!
Ski For the Pass is a 7K classic race/tour from the winter closure gate east of Aspen on Highway 82 to the turnoff for Lincoln Creek Rd. It is the only day of the year that this closed section of Highway 82 is groomed for classic cross country skiing. Race is part of Aspen Cup Nordic Series. Hot drinks, pastries & fire at finish; Aid station at Weller campground with water & Gatorade. Race is a benefit for Independence Pass Foundation. Gear shuttle to end of race will be provided.
