The America’s Uphill is a longtime Aspen favorite that attracts hundreds of racers each year. The race brings together snowshoers, runners, Nordic skiers, telemark skiers, and Randonee skiers for a 2.5 mile and 3,000’+ vertical climb up Aspen Mountain. The 2019 America’s Uphill

This year’s race helps benefit the Aspen Center For Environmental Studies education programs. March is ACES Education Fund Month. A portion each registration will be donated plus you will have the option to give a little bit to ACES when you register for the event. If you donate an additional $25 or more, receive a free 50th Anniversary ACES Buff.

This year, participation will be limited to 300 total registration (240 will be available online). Last year there were 195 people registered for the race.
Pre-registration is available till 4pm March 8 at the Ute Mountaineer. Online registration (credit card only) available at www.utemountaineer.com till 9am Mountain time March 8. Please do not fax registrations.
Race Day Registration is available from 6-6:30am at the gondola building ticket office.

Cost includes BREAKFAST, pain, raffle, and awards. $5 of each registration will be donated to Aspen Center of Environmental Studies education programs.

The America’s Uphill begins at the base of Little Nell and climbs 3267 feet up the Aspen Mountain ski area finishing at the Sundeck Restaurant at an elevation of 11,212 feet. The course follows Little Nell to the Bell Mountain Chair and then up Bingo Slot to Spar Gulch. The long steep climb up Spar continues to the base of Ajax Express (Lift 3). From there, there’s a small reprieve on Tortilla Flats before the climb begins again in earnest. At this point, the race follows a maze of trails starting up Deer Park to Pussyfoot, Silverbell, and Easy Chair, finally topping out at the Sundeck. Inspection of the course prior to race day is recommended.
There is one aid station with fluids at the base of Lift 3.
Race Packet & Bib Pickup
Race Packet and bib pick-up will be at the Ute Mountaineer Thursday (3/7/19) during regular store hours (9am-9pm) and Friday (3/8/19) 9am-4pm. You can also pick these up race morning from 6-6:45am in the Gondola Building at the base of Little Nell.
Timing Chip Pickup
Your timing chip is part of your bib, so please do not lose your bib! We do not have a replacement bib for you.
Breakfast is included with your race entry fee and is available at the Sundeck Restaurant from 8-9:15am. Breakfast will be bacon, eggs or pancakes, and a hot drink. It is possible to purchase an additional breakfast ($15) for a spectator when you register (if done by noon 3/8/19)
The awards ceremony will begin at 9:15am inside the Sundeck Restaurant. Awards will be overall by gender, by team, and by age group and gender in category. There is an extensive raffle.
Your personal belonging in a bag or backpack can be transported to the finish line. Just look for the gear bag signs by the Gondola entrance.
