Since 1985 the Owl Creek Chase has been one of Colorado’s
favorite Nordic events, drawing hundreds of Citizen racers annually, and has
since grown into the largest multi-day event in Colorado, the Aspen Nordic
Festival. With the Owl Creek Chase as the centerpiece of the multi-day
event, the Aspen Nordic Festival features races and activities for all ages.
Events included are; Aspen Valley Ski Club Classic, the Owl Creek Race and a
free clinic. Elite level events in the USSA SuperTour, Sprint racing at
Wagner Park.
Course Description
The 21K event of the Owl Creek Chase begins at the Snowmass Cross
Country Center. The course follows a loop around the Snowmass Club
Golf Course before connecting to the Owl Creek Trail. Follow the Owl
Creek Trail, crossing Buttermilk, and the Tiehack Bridge. After the
bridge, there is a loop around the Moore Property and the Aspen Public Golf
Course before finishing at the Aspen Cross Country Center. To see a

USSA SuperTour
The Owl Creek Chase is
the 6th venue of 14 Supertour events in the winter of 2009-2010. It is also
part of the FIS Marathon Cup Series. This tour will attract elite skiers
from all around the world and is an exciting addition to the Aspen area.
