Scoring Guidelines
Registration is at the Start/Finish of each event. Entry Fees are $15 for
adults and $7 for juniors.
Scoring: “Reverse starter scoring” will be used for each race. Points will
be awarded based on the number of starters in the event. First place will be
given the number of points equal that of the number of starters and so on
down to last place finisher receiving one point. Eg., 20 starters equals 20
points for the first finisher and 1 point for the last finisher. Season
points will be awarded to the longest event only, which will be designated
as the official “Aspen Cup” race. Series awards will include
ribbons for the overall of the “classic” and “freestyle” divisions and
customized medals will be awarded to the combined overall Aspen Cup winners
in each age group adding classic and skate points together. Overall
champions in the classic and skate divisions will count the the points total
of all 3 races in each of those disciplines. The combined Aspen Cup will be determined
by the total points accumulated in all 6 races. The single best overall combined male and female will
have their names inscribed on the permanent Aspen Cup trophy.
