America's Uphill
7:00 A.M., March 13, 2010, Aspen Mountain, Aspen, CO
This race is a longtime Aspen favorite. Attracting hundreds of racers each year, the race brings together snowshoers,
runners, Nordic skiers, telemark skiers, and Randonee skiers for a
2.5 mile trek up Aspen Mountain.
Results
Results will be by overall place, by category gender age group (see
below for categories, age groups are 18 & under,
19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+), and by team (5 best times of
racers on a team will be added - lowest total
time wins).

Awards/Raffle
The awards ceremony will begin at 9:30am inside the Sundeck
Restaurant. awards will be overall by gender, by team,
and by age group and gender in category. There is an extensive raffle.
Cost and Registration
$35 Pre-registration. Available till 4pm March 12 at the Ute
Mountaineer. Or online registration (credit card only) available
at www.utemountaineer.com till 11pm Mountain time March 11.

$45 Race Day Registration. Available from 6-6:30am at the gondola
building ticket office.
Cost includes pain, raffle, awards, and t-shirt. $1 of
each registration will be donated to Mountain Rescue Aspen.
T-shirts given out to the first 300 participants to pick up their
goody bags.
Race Packet & Bib Pickup
Is available Tuesday thru Friday March 9-12 from 9am to 5pm (4pm
on the 12th) at the Ute Mountaineer or on
race day from
6-6:45am in the gondola
building at the base of Aspen Mountain.
Timing Chip Pickup
Is
mandatory and will be on race morning from 6-6:45am in the gondola
building at the base of Aspen Mountain.
Course Description
The America's Uphill begins at the base of Little Nell and climbs 3267
feet up the Aspen Mountain ski area finishing at
the Sundeck Restaurant at an elevation of 11,212 feet. The course
follows Little Nell to the Bell Mountain Chair and
then up Bingo Slot to Spar Gulch. The long steep climb up Spar
continues to the base of Ajax Express (Lift 3). From
here, there's a small reprieve on Tortilla Flats before the climb begins
again in earnest. At this point, the race follows
a maze of trails starting up Deer Park to Pussyfoot, Silverbell, and
Easy Chair, finally topping out at the Sundeck.
Inspection of the course prior to race day is recommended.

There is one aid station with fluids at he base of Lift 3.
